These fraudulent tokens may be available on execution venues not provided by GMO Trust. Such tokens cannot be redeemed for fiat with us, and pose a potentially significant risk to your investments and financial security, potentially leading to fraudulent activities and scams.
It has come to our attention that there are instances of tokens which impersonate our GYEN and ZUSD. These tokens are not associated with GMO Trust and their labeling is misleading in an attempt to deceive unknowing persons in the marketplace. These tokens are not authentic GMO Trust issuances, however they impersonate our products by falsely displaying our name or logo. We urge you to exercise caution when obtaining any GYEN or ZUSD other than directly through our platform.
To safeguard against such impersonation attempts, we urge you to follow these essential steps when transacting on secondary markets, as you proceed at your own risk:
- Verify the Contract Address. The most reliable method to distinguish between genuine GMO Trust tokens and impersonations is by verifying the contract address of the token. The contract addresses for each blockchain we issue GYEN and ZUSD on can be found here.
- Use a Blockchain Explorer. Utilize reputable blockchain explorers to verify the authenticity of the token’s contract address. By entering the contract address into a blockchain explorer, you can confirm the authenticity of the GYEN or ZUSD.
Please be reminded that blockchain transactions are generally irreversible and you should be vigilant when transacting on any execution venue. These impersonation tokens are misleading because they are not issued by GMO Trust and therefore are not redeemable by us. We encourage you to verify the authenticity of any token you are intending to obtain by following the steps outlined above, which will help you to mitigate the risks of falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
